Hello Family! I am so excited and honored to be planning this year’s family gathering in Atlanta, Georgia! I look forward to seeing you all this summer, Thursday, July 10 through Sunday, July 13, 2008. Along with a brief letter, you will also receive a registration a form and tentative outline of events. Please return the registration form and payment to me in the pre-addressed envelope that you will receive in the mail. I will be forwarding out a detailed and finalized itinerary for the family gathering weekend as it draws nearer. Please read the following details closely. Registration for this year’s family gathering is $80 for family members that are 14 years old, and older. For members that are 6years old to 13 years old it is $40. And it is free for children 5 and under. There will be a late fee of $10 for registration fees that are received after June 13, 2008. Please checkout the Family Gathering website that I have set up for any new information, www.mcalisterfamilygathering.blogspot.com. Our hotel for this year’s gathering is The Hilton Suites. It is located at 6120 Peachtree Dunwoody Rd, Atlanta Ga 30328. We have two room choices for you to choose between. The King Suite (1 king bed and full size sofa sleeper) can accommodate a max of 4 people for $109 a night. The other option is the Family Suite (1 King bed, a full size sofa sleeper and a full size hide away bed) can accommodate up to 6 people for $139 a night. The above quoted room rate includes a full hot breakfast for the maximum number of people in the room. You may also make your hotel reservations by calling 1-800-Hiltons (445-8667). When making your reservation please tell then that you are apart of the McAlister Family Reunion. Rooms need to be booked by June 10, 2008 5 pm EST. The room rate is guaranteed from July 8 to 15th; anything before or after that will depend on the hotel availability. Parking at the hotel is complimentary, and there is a shuttle that is available to take you to the any where within a 3 mile radius of the hotel. Our hotel is also only a mile away from the Perimeter Mall. Flying to Atlanta - For those of you that are planning on flying to Atlanta for the gathering this year, you can receive 5% discount with American Airlines on any published fares, including sale fares. This discount only available for travel dates to and from Atlanta from July 7th – 16th. You need to visit www.aa.com and enter the discount code: A3878AV. You can also call 800-433-1790. Please be aware that there will be a $15 ticket issuing fee when you call in to make your reservations. Renting a Car - For family members that wish to rent cars while in Atlanta, check out Avis. By visiting www.avis.com or calling 1-800-331-1600, you can reserve a car and receive a discount. Please use our discount code of: J901208. If there is a lower rate available, they will give you a 5% discount. Please do not feel obligated to book your flights or reserve your cars through American Airlines or Avis.
